The company's attorney Joseph Macy as saying: "I've never seen a situation like this. Search warrants are issued very sparingly by the courts. This is a highly unusual situation where a business that has entered into a transaction in the regular course of business has its assets seized."
A Diamond District jeweller has accused Brooklyn District Attorney (DA) to have unrightly seized its $675,840, saying that it was an amount against a purchase transaction and was not a case of money laundering. The jeweller has filed a $5 million lawsuit against them. The confiscated money had been apparently received as payment against purchasing gold from another company, which apparently was the probe's target.
