4th Edition of IBJA's India International Bullion Summit concludes in Mumbai

The annual conclave touched upon various grave issues related to bullion and jewellery industry in India.

India Bullion and Jewellers Association Ltd. (IBJA), after the successful edition of its 1st, 2nd and 3rd India International Bullion Summit (IIBS), conducted the 4th edition of the India International Bullion Summit - 4 (IIBS - 4), at Hotel Sahara Star in Mumbai, on 16th March 2017.

The mega one day event included the following: India International Bullion Summit - Panel Discussions; The IBJA Awards - Jewellery Awards; The IBJA Jewellery Show - Exhibition Zone. Live performances, laser shows and celebrity appearances were showcased to enthral the evening after the daylong summit by prominent speakers, followed by cocktail and dinner.

India International Bullion Summit - Panel Discussions included following topics: Bullion – World V/s India; Impact of GST; Assaying and Hallmarking; Issues of Manufacturers, Wholesalers and Retailers.

During the discussion on Bullion – World V/s India, the panelists discussed about Spot Bullion Exchange, Future and options in Gold, Bullion Banks and Their Role, Innovative Bullion Product on Exchange, India Gold Price Benchmark, Role of National Bullion Board. While during discussion on Impact of GST, the industry leaders and thinkers discussed Customers Duty vis-à-vis GST, Bullion dealers/jewellers business post GST, Karigar issues post GST, Working capital issue post GST, GST on e-biz, GMS success after GST. Purity in Bullion and Hallmarking of jewellery discussion was about current regulatory framework, refiners/jewellers concern on impure bullion, impurity in silver jewellery and articles, role of technology in bullion and jewellery, proactive monitoring and proficiency testing, code of ethics for bullion and jewellery, Vienna Convention and India good delivery and its relevance.

During the inaugural ceremony, IBJA also launched IBJA Times. Other than this, SRDC India and IBJA Skill Development Council inaugurated their first program Jewellery manufacturing Techniques level 1 course which has been conceptualised for IBJA by SRDC India.
