State Diamond Trader may increase rough purchase

Currently purchases 3% roughs produced in the country

Silva has been an important hand during the exploration of kimberlite locations in North, Centre West, and Northeast Brazil, Bolivia, Venezuela and Gabon. He has also been involved with diamond exploration and production with De Beers in Canada, Africa and Russia and was also the Operations Manager for De Beers in South America.
De Beer’s would be seeing the exit of Homero Braz Silva, its geologist, who is now joining Brazilian Diamonds as its new President. Also, Glenn Brown would be retiring as Director of Brazilian Diamonds.
Kenneth Judge, Chairman of Brazilian Diamonds affirmed that Silva’s 30 years of experience would help the company expand exploration in Brazil. Silva commended the company’s portfolio especially of the Canastra 1 and Salvador 1 kimberlite projects, which seemed both interesting and challenging.
