Gemfields collaborates with Muse to launch 'All about the Ear' Collection
Gemfields has teamed up with Muse, the fine jewellery industry’s premier showroom for emerging and established talent, to present a new collection of inspired jewellery.
This year’s collaboration ‘All About the Ear’ focuses on the earring and the current trend of mixing, matching and multiples. It’s an ideal platform for creativity and demonstrates how easily rubies and emeralds can be worn fashionably as part of an everyday jewellery wardrobe.
Over 500 million years in the making, these striking gemstones are given a new lease of life in an array of hoops, studs and chandeliers. Each unique gemstone is hand selected and set to sparkle, surprise and delight by Muse’s portfolio of talent. “We are delighted to support independent and emerging designers with the GemfieldsxMuse collaboration,” said Gemfields chief executive Sean Gilbertson, “the variety of styles and designers wonderfully demonstrate the versatility of these coloured gemstones, making it fun and exciting to build a responsibly sourced gemstone collection for everyday wear.”
Designers such as Silvia Furmanovich, Ana Khouri, Holly Dyment, Michelle Fantaci, Tara Hirshberg and Nikos Koulis to name but a few, have all created earrings using Gemfields’ responsibly sourced Mozambican rubies and Zambian emeralds. The wide range of styles and price points means rubies and emeralds are perfect for every day: whether as a statement or an accent, these glints of personality add that little bit extra.
“I am thrilled to once again be partnering with Gemfields,” said Jennifer Shanker, founder of Muse Showroom, “this collaboration is truly so special and unique as it brings together a wide range of talented designers, all of whom are honoured and proud to be working with Gemfields' responsibly sourced stones.”
For Gemfields, responsible sourcing means creating a long term positive impact. On the ground, this means industry-leading actions to minimise environmental impact, protect and benefit the people within the mines and surrounding them, and contributing to the national economy. Gemfields operates community projects in the areas of health, education and livelihoods to build a positive legacy. The company believes that coloured gemstones should be mined and marketed by championing three key values - legitimacy, transparency and integrity - and pushes itself to challenge the sector by setting new benchmarks around sustainability.
Gemfields x MUSE ‘All About the Ear’ debuted at Couture, Las Vegas on 1 June 2018.
