Relief for Jaipur Exhibitors as IT-Dept. Assures Release of IIJS Goods

Almost 600Kgs of gold and 3500Kgs of Silver goods were detained by the Customs Department at Jaipur Airport.

Jaipur Exhibitors whose IIJS goods were detained by the IT-Department at the Jaipur Airport can now breathe a sigh of relief. Today, a delegation of the Council and various gems and jewellery associations met Prithvi Raj Meena, Addl. Director, Income Tax Investigation for the release of goods, as per market sources.

According to the sources, each exhibitor will be required to submit the balance sheet and trial balance as on 31st March, 2018 and trial balance as on 14th August, 2018, Sale and purchase register and stock register. After verification, the Department will ask the logistics company to release the goods of the exhibitor. No visit to exhibitior's premises will be carried out by the officers for the verification of stock. Exhibitors may submit the required documents and get their goods released.

Sanjay Kala, President of the Jaipur Jewellers Association said, “The IT-Department authorities have taken action on the basis of information received from Mumbai. They will be releasing the goods soon on submission of required documents. They know that the goods are from the bona fide exhibitors of IIJS. There will not be any further checks on exhibitor premises.”

Around 600Kgs of gold and 3500Kgs of silver goods coming back from IIJS exhibition were stopped at the Jaipur Airport by the IT-Department due to improper paper work, under invoicing and wrong weights.
