Starglam had purchased the Tiffany silver merchandise in Asia and on Canal Street, New York City. Starglam would sell these counterfeit merchandise on internet sites including eBay. Tiffany has filed a civil action against eBay in the Federal Court in New York.

According to the court judgment, Starglam had to pay Tiffany $956,793.15, after it pled guilty to of trademark counterfeiting. "We are pleased to announce this judgment. Trademark counterfeiting severely damages brand owners and consumers alike. The way to stop it is to take aggressive action against the counterfeiters and make them pay, criminally as well as civilly," said Michael Kowalski, Tiffany chairman and chief executive officer.
Tiffany and Co., won its legal case filed against Starglam Inc. and its principle John Shamir, for counterfeit silver Tiffany merchandise.
