The Palanpur community website was officially launched on November 16, 2008 at the initiative of Vidyamandir Trust. Mehta, a Vidyamandir Trustee and initiator of the new project explained about the oneness of the community and the inspiration to launch the website as“It is important to sink in the fact that we have truly benefited from the strength of our roots and the vast culture that we have inherited. We in turn have a duty to pass on this to the next generation. They need to connect with this feeling of oneness We have consciously chosen the Web medium because it is accurate; it is quick and cost effective and can be constantly updated and modified.” The website had some sections with static content – History, including a time line and anecdotes of the past; a section on Clans and the family trees; Palanpur Today with demographics; profiles of eminent Palanpuri personalities and information about the Trusts established by the community.
