The 76-year-old jeweller has increased its retail presence by inaugurating a new store in the Mumbai suburb, Borivali. Located near the railway station with ample parking space, the store is sure to attract a large number of patrons.

India’s imports of rough diamonds during November 2008 amounted to US$599.61 million, rising by 12.63 percent over US$532 million the same month last year. Import of rough coloured gemstones amounted to US$2.72 million, while of gold bars recorded US$116.62 million. %% Cut and polished diamonds increased in the month by 18.71 percent amounting to US$449.63 million, from US$378.8 million in November 2007.{{ Surat saw an increase of 99 percent in its imports of cut and polished diamonds, amounting to $272.84million from US$137 million in November 2007.}} Although SEEPZ SEZ witnessed a dip in its imports of cut and polished variety by almost 23 percent amounting to US$16 million. %% The entire gem and jewellery account for November 2008, for India, amounted to US$1209.47 million, increasing by 15.54 percent.
