Beginning June 1, 2009 Dr. Michael S. Krzemnicki has assumed the role of head of SSEF - the Swiss Gemmological Institute, succeeding Prof. Dr. Henry A. Hänni. Prof. Hänni retired from his position at the end of May, this year. %% Prof. Hänni is retiring from the directorship of SSEF although he will continue association with SSEF and support the laboratory with his vast knowledge and experience. %% Prof. Hänni is holds a repute in the industry for his 20 years of experience and contribution as a gemmologist and mineralogist. He has helped shaped the SSEF laboratory into a world-leading gemmological institution, having worked on some of the most important gemstones, diamonds and pearls in the world. He and his team have also contributed numerous articles covering all aspects of gemmology, in professional journals all over the world. r. Krzemnicki, the former deputy director, takes over the leadership of SSEF as director. He is an internationally well-known expert in gemmology and mineralogy, having worked many years in SSEF. The Foundation Board is convinced the transition will benefit all SSEF clients and the gemmological community.
