It was time to welcome New Boards for two members of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) - the Tokyo Diamond Exchange and the Borsa Diamanti D'Italia. WFDB Avi Paz congratulated the incoming boards and wished them a successful and fruitful term of service to their bourses. "More than ever before, we look at our members to not only upkeep the rules and regulations of their bourses, and consequently those of the WFDB, but also to exert influence on their local markets in assuring that diamonds remain a preferred and highly regarded luxury product. Our members not only market diamonds, but also play a central role in advancing confidence in diamonds in the supply pipeline and ultimately in furthering consumer confidence in polished diamonds." %% The New Board at the Tokyo Diamond Exchange included - Michio Iwasaki elected as President. He has been a veteran in the diamond, gem and jewellery industry in Japan, senior director at Jewellers Association of Japan (JJA), and chairs the JJA's Public information Commission. Also added to the TDE board were: Nobuhiro Imanishi, vice president, Hidetaka Kato, honorary dean, Koji Kiriya; Senior Managing Director; and Hiromoto Iwasawa and Yukihiro Kuwayama both Managing Directors. Some TDE members were elected as directors: outgoing TDE president Michio Fukui, Koji Takatani, Masami Tatsumi, Tatsuhiro Yoshida, Ichiro Uchihara, Shunji Murakami, Akiyuki Mizutani, Osamu Matsuo, Fujio Takada, Masakazu Akechi, Chiaki Nakagawa, Shintaro Minami, Naoki Ito, Susumu Kotani, Yoshinobu Narukawa, Atul Jhaveri and Kazuhiko Ujiie. %% At Borsa Diamanti D'Italia, long-time president, Ernesto Colombi, was elected to serve another term, Moussa Sians as vice president, Luigi Cosma as secretary, Mussa Khafi, as treasurer, and Piva Renato as honorary president, were the newly elected. Some BDI members were elected to the bourse's board: Severo Russo, Giovanni Bossi, David Joshach, Roberto Spagnolo and Alberto Casbelli. Two auditors were elected: Ferrucio Menni and Mauro Folco.
