JJS-IJ Awards 2013 edition is all set to roll

Starting from this July, the contest will span seven months, with entries being accepted from July 1 to August 31.

Sarin Technologies has announced its financial results for the second quarter ending June 30, 2009. Revenues dipped by 67 percent to $3.7 million. Net loss amounted to $905,000, as compared to a $3.1 million profit in the same quarter last year. Region-wise, the company noted its revenues in Africa to be hit the maximum falling by 90 percent to $121,000. In India, revenues dipped by 65 percent to $2.9 million, in Europe by 76 percent to $117,000, and in North America by 88 percent to $57,000. Other cites showed a 50 percent drop in revenues to $524,000.%% The company attributes its reduced revenues to the global economic slowdown. It had undertaken curbing expenses of - R&D by 46 percent, sales and marketing by 55 percent, and general administration by 40 percent. For the near future, the company plans continuing R&D on projects that will add to revenues in the near future, reports say. It is scheduled to launch its Galatea technology and deliver the Galatea ‘Galaxy 1000’ production-run systems to its vendors in India and one in Israel in the third quarter. It is also considering doubling capacities in these two countries and opening another service center in Belgium. %% The company noted a 78 percent drop in revenues in the first six months of 2009, to $4.7 million. Net loss in the said period amounted to $3.4 million, from profits worth $5.1 million last year.
