Sarin Technologies Ltd.’s new Instructor software package will work on its polished diamond measuring equipment (DiaMension™, DiaMension™ Lab Edition and DiaScan S+™), to improve yield and assure quality during diamond polishing. "The Instructor is a very significant step forward for manufacturers in controlling the diamond polishing process to enhance yield," said Akiva Caspi, Sarin's VP for the Marketing and Business Development. Caspi further mentioned that "We believe this product's launch will provide a significant boost to manufacturers who will now have better control over the actual polishing process, a stage of the diamond's manufacturing previously not sufficiently addressed by Sarin's high-technology solutions. The further automation of the polishing process with such high levels of finesse will aid the market in even further increasing productivity, yield and competitiveness." %% The Instructor software assesses a stone’s goals and quality parameters as set by the operator (based on the optimal planning recommendation provided by Sarin's Advisor™, software for computerised planning of rough diamonds), throughout the polishing stage. It determines the projected cut grade, corrective instructions, polished and unpolished parts of the stone, becoming useful in informing if the cut grade is a borderline case. %% Possible deviations from the originally approved polishing "blueprint", are noted throughout the polishing stages, and possible asymmetrical solutions are proposed to increase yield. The software is flexible to include gemological institute standards, manufacturer-specific rules and operator-specific cut grades, as derived from preferred subsets of laboratory standards. %% The software is being released along with the new upgraded version of Sarin's new Advisor™ IV software for computerised planning of rough diamonds, more fully incorporating inclusion mapping data from Sarin's new Galaxy 1000 TM product and providing enhanced planning solutions for small stones processed by the DiaExpert Nano™ platform. Uzi Levami, Sarin's CEO said, "We believe that Sarin's customers will significantly benefit from the new technologies we have introduced, especially in this challenging period, when the need for optimal quality and yield have become even more important to the industry."
