Following the success of ‘Know your diamond’ seminar conducted by International Gemological Institute (IGI) in Navsari for around 850 members of Navsari Diamond Merchant Association, and owing to the demand for professional courses in Gemology in Navsari, the IGI recently held a course in the region on Polished Diamond Grading. The course is a short term practical grading programme. %% The course was conducted for members of the Navsari Diamond Merchants Association, with 27 participants including polishers, traders, assorters and manufacturers. It focused on identification and grading diamonds as per the International standards, 4C’s in a diamond, treatments, synthetics & pricing, lab sessions and lectures, which were conducted in Gujarati, thus making it simpler for participants to understand and relate to the subject. %% Mr. Ramit Kapur, General Manager, IGI said – “After a successful seminar in Navsari, we were able to create interest for IGI courses in this town. This town is evolving from cutting & polishing good cut stones to very good or excellent cut stones. This course gives the participants a clear direction in which they should move to achieve better and consistent quality of goods.
