An Antwerp Diamond Day is being planned by the Antwerp World Diamond Centre (AWDC), at the Belgian EU Pavilion during the Shanghai World Expo 2010 on June 7, 2010. It will be the lead into the Antwerp Week to be hosted at the pavilion. The Antwerp Diamond Day in Shanghai includes an educational seminar and lectures by leading authorities on scientific diamond research. %% Antwerp Diamond Days are platforms organised and coordinated by AWDC, for attendees to learn about Antwerp diamond centre and interact with representatives of Antwerp diamond companies. The Antwerp Governor Cathy Berx will officially open the proceedings at Shanghai. followed by Ludo Van Campenhout, Alderman for Diamond Affairs in the Antwerp municipality. %% During the Antwerp Week, AWDC will celebrate signing of a new agreement with the Shanghai Diamond Exchange, involving branding Antwerp-sourced diamonds in China through the joint launch of an exclusively issued “Diamonds Love Antwerp” label. The Antwerp Week will also include a gala dinner, organised by the City of Antwerp and the Province of Antwerp at the Consulate General of Belgium, bringing together representatives of the leading economic sectors of Antwerp, and China. There will also be an exclusive jewellery show hosted by AWDC and HRD Antwerp, exhibiting the finest Antwerp made jewellery pieces.
