UBM India's Kolkata Gem & Jewellery Fair 2015

The jewellery fair is being held at the Mila Mela Exhibition complex from 10th January - 12th January 2015.

Gemological Institute of America (GIA) India concluded its nine-week course in jewellery design theory and artistry with a graduation ceremony on September 24, which invited Avant garde jewellery designer Bina Goenka as Chief Guest. Ms. Goenka is renowned for creating beautiful masterpieces with distinct design and craftsmanship. She interacted with the students while also handing down the certificates to them. %% Nirupa Bhatt, Managing Director of GIA India and the Middle East and Manoj Singhania, Director of Education also graced the ceremony, and interacted with students and their families. %% “The graduation ceremony initiates the students into the world of professional jewellery design and creativity,” said Nirupa Bhatt, Managing Director of GIA India and the Middle East. “Students leave with a strong portfolio of designs to show potential employers and the knowledge and confidence they need to succeed in the industry’s creative realm.” %% At the event, students also their designs created for a jewellery design competition held the previous day. The competition design categories were - bridal, earrings, daily wear and red carpet, among others. The contest was judged by more than 250 GIA staff members who selected the best design in each category. %% GIA India will host its Jewellery Design course once again from January 21, through March 25, 2011.
