Sotheby's Magnificent Jewels & Jadeite sale saw good demand for diamonds and diamond jewellery in various coloured diamonds. The sale reached a total value of over $54 million. Within this, the top lot was a rare 6.43 carat, VS2, type IIa, pink diamond, which sold for $7,738,919, which is higher than its pre-sale estimate price. The diamond is characterized on each side by a pear-shaped and brilliant-cut diamonds. %% The highlight in the jadeite collection was a long chain necklace with jadeite plaque made of highly transclucent emerald green color, surrounded by princess-cut and brilliant-cut diamonds. It was bought for $1,163,109. %% Another spectacular lot at the sale was a pair of fancy vivid yellow diamond earrings having suspended emerald-cut fancy vivid yellow diamond weighing 21.17-carat and 20.77-carat. The earrings sold for $4,995,009. %% A pair of loose diamonds of 10.88 carats each were bought for $4,851,014. A {{diamond ring a 4.10-carat fancy intense, purplish pink diamond}} pave-set with brilliant-cut diamond shank was bought for $2,612,481. %% A set of unmounted brilliant-cut diamonds of 5.47 carats and 5.50 carats, respectively, were bought for $1,962,584.
