Foundation stone soon to be laid for Surat Diamond Bourse

Surat Diamond Bourse is expected to come up at an investment of Rs 1.25 lakh crore.

The 2011 AGS (American Gem Society) Conclave has been conceptualized with the theme of building bridges, much similar to its venue, San Francisco which is famous for being a city that built bridges to its Bay Area neighbors. The Conclave will host two additional two keynote speakers - Jim Abbott and Dan Buettner. %% Jim Abbott will present “ADAPT: Overcoming Adversity”, highlighting ways to mold according to challenges and apply five specific words (Using ADAPT as an acronym) as incredible strategies to any aspect of life. Jim has worked with The Department of Labor's Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) on initiatives encouraging businesses to hire people with disabilities. Despite being born handicap (without a right hand), he has various awards, including Sullivan Award (best amateur athlete in the United States), male athlete of the year for the 1988 Olympic Games. %% Dan Buettner, world renowned explorer and National Geographic writer, has discovered Blue Zones: hotspots of human health and vitality. His keynote address incorporates National Geographic images of the world's four Blue Zones, that would be inspiring to make the most of life. Dan is the New York Times best-selling author of The Blue Zones: Lessons for Living Longer from the People Who’ve Lived the Longest and Thrive: Finding Happiness the Blue Zones Way. %% “AGS Members are always looking at new opportunities and tools that help them stay at the top of their game,” said Ruth Batson, Executive Director and CEO of the American Gem Society. “We want them to not only grow as business leaders, but to walk away from this Conclave feeling enriched and energized, and apply what they’ve learned in every aspect of their working, family and social relationships.
