Summer of 2012, marks the arrival of the new Panna collection by jewellery house Amrapali. A direct translation of the Hindi word for emerald, the collection features these mesmerising stones, ethically mined by Gemfields in Zambia. The Panna gemstone is said to behold many mystical properties, providing an emblem of power and a symbol of hope.%% The Panna designs have been inspired by collections the Maharajas once commissioned to the grand Maisons of Europe. Unquestionable craftsmanship and unparalleled design have been masterfully combined to create these truly phenomenal creations. Intricate cuffs, show stopping necklaces and chandelier earrings all have a distinct Indian aesthetic- a characteristic which is sweeping western jewellery houses.%% This collection has been a true collaboration with ethical coloured gemstone company Gemfields who pride themselves on ensuring all the coloured gemstones in their portfolio are brought from mine to market in an ethical and transparent manner. Through five millennia, from Moghul magnificence to Hollywood glamour, the talismanic emerald has been lusted after for its seductive beauty and ravishing rarity.%% Amrapali’s artisan team have been carefully trained in the traditional Indian techniques which feature in the designs, furthering the collections unique appeal and the integrity and beauty of the emeralds from Gemfields, pioneers in the ethical and environmentally- aware mining of coloured gemstones.%% The Panna collection is on preview in Amrapali’s Beauchamp Place boutique and Harrods Fine Jewellery room from Tuesday 12th June.%%
