A descriptive book, called as 'When Jewellery Speaks' published by Diamond World was launched on 7 October 2012 during the inauguration of Worlds Craft Summit in Chennai. This book concentrates on the rising trend of Kundan Minakaari work. Union Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma released the book. Rajiv Jain, Secretary Jaipur Jewellery Show, Alok Kala Editor and Publisher, Diamond World, Shimul Mehta Vyas of National Institute of Design (NID) were present at the launch. %% Speaking on the occasion Alok Kala said, “This book was the need of the hour, the industry needed the compilation of historic and cultural details of this wonderful art. It is sure to help the industry and people involved in it such as students, designers, manufacturer, traders, etc. to unearth and reinvent the art of Kundan Minakaari. We consider this as our responsibility to present the industry with things that are truly needed. With the help of Jaipur Jewellery Show and NID we have been able to do our bit for the industry. In future too, we will continue with our efforts to help the industry." %% ‘When Jewellery Speaks’ is a fascinating insight into the genre of the old-world charm of Kundan Minakaari jewellery. The book forms a veritable kaleidoscopic odyssey as the Kundan Minakaari tradition annals through aesthetic grandeur and regal symbolism.
