After having lost out to India, the Middle East is now eyeing to be among the top three regions in sales of loose diamonds. Middle East is currently placed in the fourth position after US, Japan and India.
The 2007 target for Alrosa is 1% above the estimated production figure for 2006.Alrosa’s sales revenue target for the year is $2.898 billion, up 2.4% over 2006. This includes $2.087 billion of rough sales from Alrosa's mines, $657 million from the Nyurba mine, and $153.7 million from cutting and polishing operations.%%The sales total from diamond manufacturing for 2006 is estimated at 163.7 million.%%After-tax profit for 2007 is targeted at Rb15.8 billion, which is equivalent to $598 million at the current exchange rate. This is up slightly on the Rb15.1 billion profit figure confirmed for 2005.%%Capital expenditure for 2007 is fixed at Rb18.95 billion ($718 million). Alrosa's debt is expected to be $1.66 billion by the end of 2007.
