The jewellery industry will now have its own exclusive yet largest employment database for itself according to the Gemological Institute of America (GIS). This online service has been introduced by the GIA and can be accessed through its website with no cost factor involved.
The intent behind the website is to form a common platform for employers, professionally trained students and alumni to interact. Currently the link has more than 12,000 visitors per month and around 350 employers from across the globe, including wholesalers, department stores, jewelry designers, auction houses to gem laboratories, all have posted positions. De Beers LV, Tiffany & Co., Robbins Bros., Lux Bond & Green, Hearts On Fire, Diamonds International, and Harry Winston Inc are present on the weblink.
The profile of job seekers is not restricted and can be from an entry-level to seasoned management, while the listed positions vary between wholesalers, retailers, graders, and bench jewelers, marketing executives as also instructors. The service filters every profile with an appropriate job match, gives search results specific to country, company name, location, and posting date.
"With this robust new search engine, GIA has developed the most comprehensive employment resource in the industry," said Dani Oliver, GIA’s Career Services manager.
The search facility displays two modes—a brief version showing more jobs at a glance, and a detailed view summarising each job description in the results list.
