Tawana Resources has discovered unusually large diamonds while processing the initial bulk sample recovered at the Riverton kimberlite project in South Africa. There were 18 such diamonds found, which weighed 9.07 carats, with the average size being 0.50 carats. Out of the 18, one is a 3.12 carat pale yellow diamond, another a 1.31 carat diamond, and also a 1.08 carat diamond was retrieved. According to Tawana, the average size is quite large for diamonds recovered from a Kimberlite project.
