The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) of India announced change of dates of the India International Jewellery Show (IIJS) 2006. The trade fair will be now held from 4th May to 8th May 2006 instead of 27th April to 1st May 2006 at the NSE Grounds at Goregaon in Mumbai, India.
Commenting on the change of dates of IIJS 2006, Mr. Bakul R. Mehta, Chairman, GJEPC said, “After we announced the dates for IIJS 2006, the Council received numerous requests from the members and trade fraternity to shift the dates due to the auspicious festivals ‘Akshay Tritiya’ and ‘Baisakhi’. The two festivals are of immense significance to the trade across nation, as majority annual sale takes place on these days. In acknowledgement of popular demand the Council has decided to postpone the show by a week to suit the requirements of the Indian gem and jewellery fraternity.”
Bullish on the prospects of IIJS 2006 Mr. Mehta stated, “We hope that the upcoming IIJS 2006 will further build on the success of the previous shows and continue to provide a platform for the Indian as well as international gem & jewellery industry to showcase their strengths and capabilities.”%%IIJS 2006 promises to be a bigger and better show with a exhibitors, visitors and host to delegations representing key and emerging international markets such as Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Holland and Poland in addition to the regular visitors from established markets.
