Mumbai has the 2nd largest collection of Art Deco buildings in the world, right after Miami. The unique architectural style of Deco buildings in Mumbai is known as ‘Deco Saracenic’ since it fuses the elements of Hindu and Islamic architecture with that of Art Deco.

Crafted in 18Kt gold, the designers have used a combination of diamonds, coloured stones and enamel to capture the beauty of these details. The cylindrical stepped minaret of Eros Theatre is transformed into a statement making choker and stunning cocktail rings. The linear motifs that adorn the sidewalls of Liberty Theatre get translated into sleek chandelier earrings. The top-view of Empress Court is reinterpreted as a pair of pretty fan earrings. Witness a beautiful interplay of symmetry and repetition, sleek and curved lines, geometric and ornate forms.

This collection has designs comprising pendants, rings, earrings, necklaces and bracelets - all inspired by the best of Mumbai’s Deco Saracenic buildings. Some of them are famous landmark buildings - Regal Cinema, Metro Cinema, New India Assurance Building, and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. Ismail Beg Mohammad School, Bella Court, Shiva Shanti Bhavan, Ram Mahal and Pai House are our lesser known yet equally iconic muses.

The designs will take you back to the Bombay of mid-1930s when the rise of Art Deco buildings was also a symbol of modernity, inspired by the west. And just like these buildings in their hey days, these pieces are crafted to suit the modern wardrobe.
