Online auction house, Astaguru’s upcoming “Heirloom Jewellery & Fine Silver” auction is scheduled to take place on the 20th & 21st of October, 2018. The auction will comprise of 70 lots in total. The inclusion of each lot having been ascertained only after it has adhered to the parameters as enlisted by the curating team.

Astaguru’s philosophy of research based curation is an integral part of their operational functionality and therefore they have only selected lots which in their truest form define virtuosity of vintage design and craftsmanship. The Kala Ghoda based online auction house has curated a stunning catalogue featuring ornaments which represent the aura of India’s timeless and eternal tryst with jewellery & silver making.

Lots include a beautiful two strand Natural Pearl Necklace with 157 pieces aligned in perfect harmony, each individual graduated pearl has an existence of its own, and the Chau count for the same is 548. Another star lot is a five strand Natural Burmese Ruby and Diamond necklace, this magnificent Art Deco necklace is SSEF certified and has 537 Natural Burmese Ruby Beads with a total of 1000 cts, while the diamond count stands at 12.28-cts with 328 pieces. Another Art Deco era piece is an Old Mine Colombian Emerald Bead & Diamond Necklace, the Emerald weight is 300 cts with 208 beads in total, the Colombian Emeralds beads in this lot is AGL certified.

From the traditional Indian segment they have a stunning Gold Jadau Haar set with Polkis, Natural Pearls and deftly executed enameling detailing in green and red. The piece is strung on a chedia. This lot is from circa 1850s and was originally part of a Rajasthani Royal family’s collection. A Gold Kada from the 1890 also originally from the estate of the Royal family weighing a solid 191.390 grams of Gold. The Kada features mythological creatures depicted and is set with Polkis, Rubies and Emeralds, this particular style of Kada was normally worn by priests whilst they performed rituals in India. Another exclusive lot is a Gold Jadau Gullubandh is worn in complete contact with ones neck, which derives its title. This necklace is set with Ruby Cabuchons, Emerald Cabuchons, Natural Pearls and Polki. Inlayed with very fine Red, white and green enamel detailing. Strung and secured with a chedia. This lot is from circa 1890. Another lots include A Gold and Malachite Goanese necklace set with a central Malachite and two subsidiary Malachite rectangular cut pieces. Malachite weight for this lot is 350 cts approx. The Collection of Natural Burmese Rubies set in gold includes 7 Bangles, 3 Pairs of Ear Tops, 3 Rings and 3 Necklaces with a total Ruby weight amounting to 265-cts approx.

The Silver segment which features 19 lots includes A Silver Kashmiri Sweetmeat Dish and A Paan Box with A Silver Kashmiri Sweetmeat Dish and A Paan Box These lots display defining virtuosity of Kashmiri craftsmanship and denote the importance of the Chinar design, both the lots display defining virtuosity of Kashmiri craftsmanship and denote the importance of the Chinar design. An Odisha Silver compartment box with key executed in intricate Filigree design. A Silver hookah with a detachable smoking pipe. Astaguru has also included Silver lots from abroad such as Burmese silver, British Hallmarked Tea Sets and European Silver artifacts. Burmese Silver which is very desirable, is a set of three boxes with variation in style and shape, such as a vertical box, an open circular box and a shutting rectangular box.

Astaguru’s Heirloom Jewellery & Fine Silver auction will be their 6th auction for the year and will take place on the 20th and 21st of October. The upcoming auction will be a standalone version of its kind, however this will not be their first attempt at the same, Astaguru had conducted their debut in this segment in November 2017. On an expansion spree both in terms of segments and the number of auctions conducted each year, the Heirloom Jewellery & Fine Silver auction follows through their debut standalone Exceptional Timepieces auction which took place on the 24th& 25th of September. This online edition is geared to be a bedazzling affair which will enthrall and excite online bidder.
