Manthan - A Gems and Jewellery Conclave by GJC that took place on July 2, 2019 at Hotel Sahara Star in Mumbai saw Mr Jignesh Mehta, Founder & Managing Director of Divine Solitaires as one of the panellists at the event. With Lab Grown Diamonds: Challenges and Opportunities as the topic of discussion, Mr Mehta was joined by Mr Amish Shah of ALTR Created Diamonds and moderator Nirupa Bhatt.

At the conference, Mr Mehta said, “The consumer buys the idea of a diamond, something that has been there since the beginning of time, deep inside the Earth. It is not just a piece of carbon. The diamond’s journey and its provenance make it interesting to the consumer. They should know where a diamond has been mined and if it has been mined responsibly. We were the first brand to introduce a digital experience that tracks the provenance, price and quality of every single Divine Solitaires diamond. We did this at a time when no other brand had achieved this.”

In his view, it is the emotional and the asset value of the diamond that drives a consumer buy it. A natural diamond does not have a function as such. The emotion behind it makes it more valuable; as a gift during some of the best moments in one’s life.
