Opening Windows of Opportunity despite the Crisis

Suashish Diamonds Limited., based in India, has recorded a triple growth in its PAT (profit after tax), according to its financial results disclosed for second quarter 2007. Its sales turnover was as Rs.182.56 crores, while its PAT grew from what was Rs.8.37 crores in 2006 to Rs.26.33 crores in 2007. Its year to date (YTD) H1, the figure grew by 10% from Rs. 374.08 crores to Rs. 412.94 crores.

The company has been laying emphasis on its downstream marketing, capitalising on the domestic growth of 26% in 2006, and concentrating on sales of its jewellery brand ‘Ishi’s’ through retail outlets. Suashish is a vendor partner to 5 out of the top 10 jewellery retailers in the world and is emerging as a leader in jewellery exports from india.
