A 25-year-old, Hyderabad based software engineer, Mohd Riyazuddin, working in a reputed organisation in the city was arrested for fraudulently making online purchases of diamond articles and gift vouchers by using the credit card of a US-based customer.%%Riyazuddin had earlier worked with a US-based company Southern Land International Limited at Chennai. During his tenure at the company, Riyazuddin got the credit card and Card Verification Value (CVV) code number of a US client.%%Riyazuddin came back to the city and joined as a manager in a reputed software company in the city. He was living at Himayathnagar.%%According to Charminar assistant commissioner of police B Reddanna, using the credit card number of the US client, Riyazuddin made online purchases of two pairs of diamond rings and earrings from Surat diamond jewellery private limited, Mumbai. %%Riyazuddin gave his friend, Sirajuddin's address for the delivery of the goods.%% Riyazuddin convinced his friend that the diamond articles were meant for his girlfriend and so he could not give his own address as his parents will oppose. Sirajuddin collected the goods and gave them to Riyazuddin.%%Meanwhile, Riyazuddin also placed an order for a laptop and gave the address of his friend's sister in Mumbai as the delivery point. However, with the woman not being able to give a proper identity, the laptop was not delivered.%%Riyazuddin later purchased gift vouchers through the internet and shopped at a leading store in the city and also at a watch showroom.%%Meanwhile, the Mumbai-based jewellery management did not receive the amount made for the purchase of the diamond articles. They filed a complaint with the Charminar ACP.%%After investigations, police nabbed Sirajuddin to whom the diamond articles were delivered.$$Based on Sirajuddin's confession, police arrested Riyazuddin on Monday. Riyazuddin was arrested on charges of cheating (Sec 420) and he will also be prosecuted for cyber crime, Reddanna said. Diamond ornaments and watches worth Rs 60,000 were recovered from him.
