The BASELWORLD 2008 – World Watch and Jewellery Show slated to be held between April 3-10, 2008, is undergoing a few changes in its offerings for the watch and jewellery segment, with a keen emphasis on the latter. The Show Director Sylvie Ritter mentioned, "BASELWORLD is a well-known showcase for over 95% of the Swiss watch making industry. The watches sector is therefore traditionally very strong and fully represented in Basel. Alongside watches, the jewellery sector continues to gain importance at BASELWORLD across the entire price spectrum. Our commitment to representing the entire, international jewellery industry in Basel is therefore increasingly successful."%%To the advantage of jewellery manufacturers, floor plans are being chalked out to offer additional space for better branding and exhibition. The "First Avenue", introduced during BASELWORLD 2006, to focus brand promotion, will this year have additional floor area.%%The luxury jewellery segment in the "Hall of Impressions" area will now have an additional floor space of 8,500 m2 in Building 3, and would have new exhibition stands and decorative schemes. Also, "Hall of Visions" and "Hall of Feelings" have been enhanced in floor space to offer jewellery exhibitors in Building 2 more space per exhibitor.%%With these modifications, The BASELWORLD 2008 – World Watch and Jewellery Show intends to reiterate its standing as the most influential B2B platform for the industry.
