Elkedra Diamonds made the largest find at its Chapada Mine in Brazil. The diamond is of 33.44 carats, and valued to be worth $3,000 per carat or $100,320 as a whole, according to an independent analysis. Since 2006, when production began at the Chapada Mine, 25,697.98 carats of high-quality diamonds have been recovered at an average sales value of $391 per carat. According to Elkedra Diamonds’, 7,780 stones weighing 4,341 carats were recovered during the September 2007 quarter.
