North Australian Diamonds Limited (NADL), an Australian diamond mining company has named Alan Campbell the new CEO of the company, effective mid-January 2006.
Campbell has had an extensive career with a recent position as exploration manager of De Beers India where he successfully negotiated access agreements with a number of state governments and established the exploration operations in highly prospective areas of India.
Tom Reddicliffe, who held the chief executive position in an interim capacity since mid 2005, will resume responsibilities as technical director. Since production commenced in July 2005, NADL has recovered more than 11,000 diamond carats. Phase 2 production, which includes the treatment of ore from several pits and the processing of ore stockpiled and untreated by previous operators, is currently underway.
Campbell has also worked with De Beers in Johannesburg and Australia. “Under Alan’s leadership North Australia Diamonds will continue to develop mining operations at the Merlin mine in the Northern Territory and to oversee the highly prospective exploration ground adjacent to the mine,” said Ewen Tyler, NADL Chairman.
