IIJS Signature organised by GJEPC in Goa, was inaugurated by Shri Pratap Singh Rane, Honorary Speaker for the Goa Legislative assembly. Present at the event were GJEPC vice-chairman Vasant Mehta, GJEPC chairman Sanjay Kothari, Conveyer IIJS Navin Jashnani and Sabyasachi Ray. The event is being held at the Kala Academy and the NID team has transformed angular parking space at the center into a creative exhibition space. %% The exhibition has 100 participants and 150 stalls displaying best in design, craftsmanship and quality in jewellery. It’s a B2B event that will last for three days. The focus of the exhibition is lifestyle and it promises to highlight the fact that Indian jewellery manufacturing standards are in par with the world. %% Chairman GJEPC, Sanjay Kothari, said, “The Kala Academy as a venue was ideal and they got all the help from the Goan people to make the event possible.” He also highlighted the fact that their intention at this exhibition was not aim for sales or set sales targets, they were providing a platform for best in jewellery to be put on show and selling didn’t happen in a day, “you cant sell in 3x3 space in 3days, it takes time to construct relationships through constant interaction,” he added. %% Shri. Rane spoke about the event and the low octroi duty in Goa which should be replicated in Maharashtra as well. He also said, “The industry should not be perturbed by slowdown in the US economy but discover new markets in Europe, Africa and Asia to trade with. The focus should be on colour stones.” Navin Jashnani, gave the vote of thanks and appreciated the efforts of the whole team in setting up the event. The event is small enough to be effective, and yet will feature diverse jewellery collections that will highlight the best in Indian jewellery.
