The diamond manufacturer has achieved the certification, meeting the ethical, human rights, social and environmental standards established by the RJC Member Certification System.

The 2008 Congress of CIBJO, The World Jewellery Confederation has finally concluded, where certain programmes and guidelines were decided upon to bring about reforms in the jewellery industry practices. %% The CIBJO Assembly of Delegates have decided to create a foundation to finance and administer CIBJO’s worldwide Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) education programme, being organised together with the United Nations. The present group of academics, affiliated to the United Nations and all experts in the field of CSR, outlined strategies to educate members within the distribution chain of the jewellery industry, about CSR practices. The programme will be adapted according to various sectors of the industry, including educational modules for training workshops. A Centre of Excellence, located within an existing academic institution, will be created to generate and coordinate CSR training activities. %% The Congress also accepted a Blue Book of industry standards for the precious metals sector, namely The Precious Metals Blue Book. The standards within the book pertain to precious metals alloys, finenesses, weights, colours, tolerances, solders, coatings/platings and marking. Furthermore, CIBJO's Colored Stone Commission agreed to study the creation of an internationally recognized code meant to clearly disclose modifications to gemstones. %% Also, a draft copy of "The Retailer's Guide to Diamonds, Gemstones, Pearls and Precious Metals," produced in collaboration with all CIBJO commissions, was presented at the Congress, by the Marketing and Education Committee. The Guide acquaints the staff of retail jewellery stores about diamonds, colored gemstones, pearls and precious metals, including guidelines for proper business practices. The Guide is to be released in June. DMCC hosted the Congress in Dubai.
