The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) Career Fair is inviting 35 companies this year, including David Yurman, Oscar Heyman, Tiffany & Co., and Zale Corp, seeking employees in various categories of responsibilities. This would be the 18th GIA Jewelry Career Fair and is scheduled for July 25, 2008 at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City. %% Being an effort by GIA, the scope of the fair will deliver more than a networking platform for job seekers. It includes advisory sessions by speakers and panelists, one-on-one mentoring, networking and workshops in various segments. ‘Working to Win Panel’ - Industry executives from Christie’s Americas, Borsheims, Lieberfarb and LAGOS, will share tips on how to succeed in the industry. ‘Career Coaching’- 27 industry leaders will mentor job seekers. ‘Immigration Law Workshop’ –legal representatives will provide advice on how to acquire a work visa and apply cultural knowledge to a position in the United States. ‘Moving From Dream to Reality’ – panel of up-and-coming industry elite leaders will share their career experiences. ‘Jewelry Design: One Passion, Many Paths’ industry designers will talk on lasting and lucrative careers in jewellery design. ‘Marketing Yourself for Success’- fundamentals that will sharpen the skills of job seekers to be one above the rest. Career Fair was founded by GIA and The Jewelers 24 Karat Club of Southern California. The Nielsen Jewelry Group is the prime sponsor of the New York Career Fair.
