Sales worth USD 11.0 million set record for an auction of rough emeralds in the bracket of lower quality
Recently, HRD Antwerp accomplished the feat of selling its 1000th piece of its D-scope microscope. The device is a microscope, developed in 2001, which gives the user the perfect combination of light, optics, manipulation of the stone and ergonomics. %% D-scope has undergone many transitions since its development. The latest version contains LED-lights and the newest generation of optics. It has three light sources - darkfield light, overhead light and UV-light; each light source uses halogen bulbs or LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes). %% With this, the light is very bright, intense and cool, allowing the user a luminous vision to detect even the most difficult inclusions or impurities. %% The equipment department of HRD Antwerp is developing a small portable microscope for rough diamonds. HRD Antwerp is a subsidiary of Antwerp World Diamond Centre (AWDC).
