Rio Tinto launches its first sustainable jewellery collection

Titled Nature's Beauty, the collection is made of gold from Rio Tinto's Kennecott Utah Copper mine in the US, with white and champagne diamonds from Rio Tinto's Argyle Diamond Mine in Australia.

The MJS Trade Fairs (Macau) Limited, slated to host its Macao de Luxe high-end jewellery fair in 2009, has appointed Ms. Nancy Robey as a Member of the Council of Advisors to the event. Her role as Member will be to share her experiences fine jewellery business with the Council. %% Ms. Robey holds an extensive portfolio in marketing within the fine jewellery industry. Her forte lies in creating targeted niche business to business events, conferences and trade shows based on market need, “Rendezvous’s of the Elite”. She also was involved in creating the first of its kind luxury business event. In her role as the Vice President, Global New Business Development of the VNU Expositions Jewelry Group, she created the Couture Jewellery Collection & Conference in 1995, She has also launched Couture offshoots which include London, Monte Carlo, Latin American editions and Couture Pavilion & Club in the Jacob Javits Center at the JA NY show. She also served as Director of US Retail and Trade Advertising for Tiffany & Co., Vice President of the DeBeers Group. Currently, she is President of The Nancy Robey Partnership, Inc., rendering consultancy services to the fine jewellery industry. %% Mr. Sunny Liu, Director of MJS Trade Fairs (Macau) Limited, said “Nancy (Robey) will definitely be able to contribute to the success of the Macao de Luxe which aims to be the first and best of its kind in Asia Pacific Region.” The other Council members include Gaetano Cavalieri, President of CIBJO, Hatta Chang, Chairman of Hatta New World, Isaac Levy, Chairman of Yvel, Vicente Liverino, Chairman of Basilio Liverino, Paolo Novembri, CEO of TJF Group and Jim Rosenheim, G.G. CEO of Tiny Jewel Box. The jewellery fair will take place at the Venetian Convention & Exhibition Center in Macau early next year.
