Thailand recorded an export figure of gemstones at $371.3 million in 2007, 38.5 percent rise, when compared to the corresponding period a year earlier, and by 70.8 percent in during first five months of 2008 to $238.8 million.%% The show is being organised by the Thai Gem & Jewellery Traders Association, with the intent to showcase Thailand’s position as a leading gemstone and jewellery centre in South East Asia.
