Sotheby auctions Spanish queen’s Cartier bracelet
Auction house Sotheby's is putting up for sale the conch pearl Cartier bracelet that once adorned the wrist of Queen Eugenia of Spain at its Magnificent Jewel sale in Geneva on November 14. The bracelet, which is anticipated to fetch bids of between US $800,000 and US $1,400,000, will join another 590 lots of polished diamonds, exceptional gems and jewels that formerly belonged to members of royal families. The bracelet, considered to be one of Cartier's most important creations during the period between the World Wars, was commissioned for the Spanish royal family in 1920. Since Queen Eugenia passed on in 1969, the bracelet has remained in the possession of the Spanish royal family until now.
