The IIJS- Signature 2009 is set to be held on February 20-23, 2009 at Kala Academy, Panaji, Goa, as announced by the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC). The Council and the industry have not shown any worries about the current market slowdown affecting such platforms of interaction and business and infact believe that demand for gems and jewellery is still a very sought after category today. Mr. Vasant Mehta, Chairman, GJEPC, mentions that "Signature is an ideal platform to identify and remove impediments that prevails and helps clear the way for a new era of trade cooperation and investment. The show also facilitates a broader business dialogue".%% GJEPC is optimistic, that the event which is a complete gem and jewellery promotional platform, will see some good turnouts this year too, with a focus on design, innovation, quality, cost effectiveness. Mr. Mehta adds, "IIJS Signature promises to highlight India's capabilities to manufacture jewellery in terms of design, craftsmanship and quality at par with International centers in the world. The event is by invitation only, and will showcase products from country's top manufacturers. The show will focus on select markets such as Bangladesh, Pakistan, Gulf, Russia, CIS etc where recession's effects are not felt at such great extent."%% IIJS Signature reiterates India's growing stature as a jewellery production centre, as is evident in the country’s design creativity, manufacturing and quality standards, and business conduct. %% The forthcoming edition of the event will focus on design and innovation in products over a wide variety of bread & butter to couture, to suit the international and domestic palette.
