Leading Indian gem and jewellery companies featuring loose diamonds, stones and finished jewellery, will be representing the country’s industry during the September Hong Kong Jewellery show ( between September 14-20, 2010), at the India pavilion hosted by the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion (GJEPC), the apex body of the Indian Gem & Jewellery industry. %% Across the two venues of the show: 52 of the Indian companies will exhibit at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre hosting finished jewellery, 18 companies will exhibit at the Asia Wrold Expo loose stone section, 8 will participate in the loose diamonds section at the Asia World Expo, two GJEPC booths, one each will be at Asia World Expo and Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre. %% “Hong Kong doesn’t just serve as an export destination but as a secondary source for Indian manufactured products. Over the years, the value of exports from India has seen a steady rise with US $6, 590. 22 million being register in 2009-10. Thus, every year, our association reaps news benefits and we hope the trend continues.”– said, Vasant Mehta, Chairman, GJEPC. %% India is one of the key markets in the global diamond industry today, as is Hong Kong, making this fair an opportunity for two key markets to converge at one place. India’s gem & jewellery exports in FY 2009-10 stood at US$ 28 Billion, rising by 16 percent from FY 09-10.
