Shrenuj and Company Limited., a leading diamond jewellery manufacturing company, has reported increased revenues across all its major markets including US, as well as overall net profits, for the quarter ending 31 December 2010. Consolidated revenues in the quarter increase by 34 percent y-o-y to Rs. 653.26 crores (Rs. 556.79 crores in 2009). The company’s net profit valued Rs. 15.52 crores rising by 9.68 percent over Rs. 14.15 crores in the same quarter of 2009. EPS for the period (basic) stood at Rs. 2.05 (not annualised). %% Reports suggest, the results have kept up with the expectations of the company, which were at ‘double digit growth in the diamond and jewellery markets worldwide’. This growth is further being underlined with expansion, as the company plans opening a new jewellery manufacturing facility in Botswana soon, and infuses technological and skill enhancements at its existing facilities. %% At the end of the first nine months, revenues were at Rs. 1,722.23 crores (Rs. 1,284.07 crores) and PAT at Rs. 44.03 crores (Rs. 37.19 crores). In this period, revenues from retail and branded jewellery units of the company, increased 73 percent to Rs. 123.71 crores (Rs. 71.41 crores in 2009). The company plans to expand its current presence across 23 metros and tier A cities in India to 29 cities at the end of the year. Retail jewellery sales at its major markets – Hong Kong and India have been on par with company expectations, and plans are to boost this segment of its business in times ahead.
