IBJA might get Gold Council status

This status would enable IBJA to be an apex benchmark association

FICCI ( Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry) spoke of the the benefits of ATA Carnet and its positive impact in enhancing India’s International trade, at a workshop organised in Mumbai. Amongst the participants, was large participation from the gems and jewellery company representative from SEEPZ, Mumbai. %% Mr. P.S. Pruthi, Commissioner of Customs & Export Promotion, Ministry of Finance, New Delhi, said, “Increased use of ATA carnet and more number of countries in addition to the current 68 joining the ATA carnet chain would boost India’s international trade. Increased use ATA carnet would also make temporary export/import of goods between international borders hassle free”. %% Mr. Nirankar Saxena, Director, FICCI stated that FICCI is the sole National Issuing and Guaranteeing Association for ATA Carnets in India and receives only 500 applications every year, while in some European nations close to 10,000 applications are received. Macau is the latest Country to join the ATA Carnet chain. Mr. S.R. Vichare, Dy. Commissioner of Customs, Mumbai and Mr. D.K. Vohra, Superintendent, Customs, Mumbai assured cooperation to the industry in resolving ATA carnet related issues.
