{{Couture India}}, a pavilion of Couture-level designers and brands for the domestic Indian market, will launch as part of UBM India’s inaugural {{Mumbai Jewellery and Gem Fair}}, scheduled for Dec. 9 to 11 at the Mumbai Exhibition Centre, {{Couture}} has recently announced.%% “Couture is expanding its mission to bring our leading designers to emerging markets throughout the world,” Couture Vice President {{Chris Casey}} said. “For years, Couture has focused on bringing those domestic and international retailers who appreciate high-end design to our event. But now Couture is looking to be even more proactive in our outreach. The growth of the affluent Indian consumer and their increased interest in global design makes Mumbai the first logical step in bringing ‘Couture design’ to other markets.”%% In partnering with UBM India to present the pavilion, Couture is forming an alliance that allows its community to take advantage of all the market insight, knowledge and relationships UBM India has in place, including appropriate buyer identification.%% “UBM India believes that the combination of our local market knowledge in combination with the global brand reach of Couture will create a unique opportunity to introduce global brands to the Indian market,” said {{Shamal Pote}}, UBM India project director of jewelry.%% For brands interested in exhibiting, Couture India will provide a turnkey solution, with the package including a fully built-out salon on the show floor, hosted buyer events with key domestic retailers and wholesalers, and full accommodation and transportation in Mumbai.%%
