Featuring amongst the exhibits at the 29th HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show, will be the designs of the winners and finalists of the 13th Hong Kong Jewellery Design Competition.%% Designs were centered around the theme of “Soaring Dragon”, echoing the Year of the Dragon, which applied to both the Open Group and Student Group categories. Winners include: Open Group category in which three winners were honoured with the Best of Show awards include: %% -“Interstellar Dream,” created by Ho Kwan Po, sponsored by H&F International Jewellery Co Ltd %% -“Soaring Dragon,” winning the Best-of-Show honours for Cherry Ko, and was sponsored by 3D-Gold Jewellery (HK) Ltd.%% -Tse Ka Wing won the third Best of Show Award for his “Flying Dragon in Joy” brooch. Sponsored by Luk Fook Holdings (International) Ltd.%% In the Student Group category: %% -Ngan Ka Yi, from the School of Continuing Education, Hong Kong Baptist University, was named Student Group Champion for her “Gaming Fire Dragon” necklace creation, which also won the Craftsmanship & Technology Award.%% “Black Shadow,” -A pair of sombre-toned dragon earrings by Wong Nga Kok, from the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Lee Wai Lee), was first runner-up%% -Tang Yuk Ying’s creation – the "Dragon Posture" ring, won second runner-up.%% “As economic growth continues to expand in such emerging markets as the BRICS countries, their purchasing power will also expand, which should lead to more demand for jewellery. This show will help exhibitors explore those markets”, said HKTDC Deputy Executive Director Benjamin Chau.%% The winning pieces of the Chuk Kam Jewellery Design Competition 2012 will also be showcased during the fair period.%% The competition was organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the Hong Kong Jewellers’ & Goldsmiths’ Association, the Hong Kong Jewellery & Jade Manufacturers Association, the Hong Kong Jewelry Manufacturers’ Association and the Diamond Federation of Hong Kong, China.%% The 29th HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show, slated between February)16 - 20, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, is expected to set a new exhibitor record, with over 3,100 exhibitors from 48 countries, and hosting exhibitors from Argentina, Denmark and Myanmar for the first time. The show is planned with over a dozen product zones, and around 20 special events including seminars, jewellery parades and the Paspaley Pearl and Robert Wan Tahiti Perles auctions. %%
