Government of Maharashtra, Ministry of Cultural Affairs felicitated six prominent ladies from totally different and unique fields with outstanding achievements on the 21st of March, 2012. %% The program “Shakti Mahotsav” was organized at the Ravindra Natya Mandir, Prabhadevi, Mumbai. Mr. Sanjay Devthale, Minister for Cultural Affairs was the Chief Guest and Guests of Honor were Mrs. Satvasheela Prithviraj Chavan and Mr. Faujiya Khan Miniter of State for cultural affairs.%% Dr. Mrs. Jayshree Panjikar first lady Gemmologist in India was amongst the six women felicitated at the function.%% Speaking at the function Dr. Jayshree Panjikar recalled some of the large gemstones and diamonds she had seen and how for almost 30 years she traveled daily from Pune to Mumbai for work at the National Research Center for Gemstones and would return back to Pune to continue her testing work at her private laboratory late into the night! Her travel itself used to be for minimum of eight hours, but as she immensely enjoyed her work she never felt the stress of travelling, in fact she made best of friends among her fellow travelers. Working with gemstones and diamonds can be very satisfying and soothing experience such that one gets more stamina to manage children, family, profession, career and academics as well as enjoy life.%%
