GIA India has recently confirmed that it will once again lend its support to the ‘Indian Jeweller’ annual design awards in its second edition. The prestigious awards were started in 2011 by the Indian Jeweller (IJ) Magazine. In its maiden year, the awards were widely contested and facilitated both finalists and winners heighten their profiles within the industry and beyond.%% From its state-of-the-art laboratory and education centre, GIA India serves both the nation’s gem trade and the international marketplace by setting and upholding universal quality standards for gems and jewellery. Now the renowned institution is putting its support behind the making of the Stars of Jewellery Industry! %% Beginning July, the contest will span seven months, with entries being accepted from July 2 to August 31. The voting will be conducted on a website especially created for the IJ Design Awards, ensuring transparency in judging. To make it easier for voting, the same can be done through computers, iPads and smart phones. The photographs will be put up for viewing and voting from September 20, 2012 and will commence on October 20, 2012.%% The finalist for the JJS-IJJCDA 2012 will be announced on December 1, 2012.%%
