This year apart from promoting trade at a global level, we are especially proud to share that the Council has attempted to contribute to the welfare of the artisans practicing the art forms of Bidri, Bamboo, Filigree and Patwa and give a leash of life to these dying art forms by hosting an exhibition of these forgotten forms of jewellery making and attempting to provide a means of livelihood for these artisans by forming the Gem and Jewellery Skill Council of India. This council will attempt to help these skilled workers to get a steady source of income through opportunities created by the council. ” %%
