PC Jeweller to launch new showroom in Chhattisgarh

With the new store, the company will have total 55 showrooms under the 'PC Jeweller' brand located across 46 cities in India.

The World Diamond Congress is a bi-annual event, which is the apex authority for decisions of a critical nature. It is a highly attended affair with delegations from 28 bourses affiliated to the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) and the 16 members of the International Diamond Manufacturers Association (IDMA) being present. The 35th Edition of the World Diamond Congress is being held in India for the first time and is hosted by Bharat Diamond Bourse and Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council, the two Indian bodies affiliated to the WFDB and IDMA respectively. %% The 35th World Diamond Congress 2012 had a vibrant start today at the Taj Lands Hotel in Mumbai. The Chief Minister of Maharashtra Prithiviraj Chauhan inaugurated the congress. Speaking on the occasion he said, “Diamond Industry is important to us and Maharashtra government will co-operate in every aspect and work closely together.” With the presence of international delegations and offices along with Indian diamond manufacturers and media, the onset of the most vital summit was a dynamic one. %% Anoop Mehta, President, Bharat diamond Bourse presented the inaugural speech and emphasized upon the generic promotion of diamonds. The Bharat Diamond Bourse is a new trading complex that began operations about two years ago. It is also the largest bourse in the world, and accounts for nearly 90% of India’s total diamond imports and exports, which were US$ 29.4 and US$ 25.1 billion respectively in 2011-12. %% Vipul P Shah, Chairman, GJEPC stressed upon the fact that India is an undisputed leader in the diamond segment. Avi Paz, President, WFDB and Moti Ganj also spoke on the occasion and said that India is trailblazer in diamond manufacturing which makes it an ideal place to hold the prestigious congress. Vasant Mehta, Vice-President IDMA proposed the vote of thanks. %%
