Solitaire Gemological Laboratories (SGL) launches its 8th laboratory in India at Jaipur, after having branches in Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Thrissur & Coimbatore. SGL is the first international laboratory in Jaipur and will initially offer diamond studded jewellery certification and polki diamond jewellery certification at the laboratory located at Mall 21. It plans to launch a 6 week Diamond Grading Professional Diploma course in July, which is also first of its kind in Jaipur. This course will cover all the important aspects related to diamonds, ranging from formation & properties to mining & distribution, and the entire journey of a diamond until it is set in a piece of jewellery. The variation that a student will experience through this course is that it will also focus on identification of diamond imitation, stimulants, and more, which will enable him to confidently identify the difference between synthetics and diamonds.%% Claudia Domante, SGL's Chief Faculty from London who is going to conduct the course in Jaipur said, “This is an intensive course with a lot of practical experience on grading and plotting diamond inclusions, diamond colour grading and everything related to knowing a diamond and I am confident that the student who will pass this will be sure enough to grade diamonds as per international grading system and will have various opportunities to work in the industry."
