Gem & Jewellery industry successfully conducts silent Candle March across India

The Candle March was conducted as a part of silent protest against recently imposed PAN card norms on jewellery purchases.

As part of its new brand identity, BVC Logistics showcased its new logo at the India International Jewellery Show (IIJS) 2013 in Mumbai. The unveiling of the new logo also marks BVC’s ingress into the general cargo domain for air and ocean international transportation. This announcement comes at a time when the company is focusing on increasing its outreach and garnering a wider customer base. BVC Logistics expansion plans include opening 11 to 25 new branches by FY2014 across India. Number of fleet will also increase by 50 to 70 vehicles all specialized to cater to the diamond and jewellery (D&J) and luxury logistics sector. The company will also increase their man power to support this major expansion. Bhavik Chinai, Director, BVC Logistics said, “BVC has been catering to the niche sector for over five decades and therefore making inroads into luxury and air logistics is an important part of our brand diversification and the next step in the expansion process. BVC plans to gain substantial traction and grow in the next 2-3 years to become a major player in the logistics market. The new BVC logo is a representation of hope through new beginnings while keeping the overall values of our BVC intact”. Currently BVC Logistics delivers to over 120 cities PAN India with 16 branch offices nationwide and has a fleet size of over 50 armoured vehicles with state of the art technology. BVC had recently entered into a strategic alliance with Brinks India to provide a seamless service throughout India and globally. BVC Logistics will now handle the pan-India diamond and jewellery export and import of Brinks India, making it the largest diamond and jewellery supply chain management company in India. In the gems and jewellery space, BVC Logistics currently handles over 45 per cent of the International Trade of Gems and Jewellery of India.
